The Border Terrier Club of Southern California will be participating in a fun day for dogs at Canyon RV Park on Sunday, Oct 13, starting at 9am. Our club will be hosting Farm Hunt and Scentwork. Other clubs will be participating with other events such as earth dog practices. We are looking forward to club members coming out and helping run our events, as well as being able to come play with their dogs. Sue Friley will be in charge of Farmhand and Star Ott will be in charge of Scentwork.
Our annual Earthdog tests and Halloween Spooktacular will take place during the weekend of Oct 26-27. There will be two tests on Saturday and one test on Sunday. Our Farm Hunt will also be there, as will our annual doggy costume contest. Look for more information as the date gets closer.
Our upcoming March specialty, in conjunction with the Great Western Terrier Association shows, will be during the morning shows. We are supporting the afternoon specialty shows. We will be having hospitality and a club area in the grooming building on Friday.
Our club meeting will be held on Saturday evening, March 2, at the Coco’s in Upland (Euclid Ave, c/o Foothill Blvd) at 6:30 pm.
With our specialty show on Friday, Jan 4, 2019, we will hold our club meeting. Sweepstakes is in ring 9 at 8:30 am and the breed is being judged (same ring) at 10 am, so the meeting will follow it at 12:30 at The Tack Room. We will try to get a table outside so everyone can sit together. This is a “buy your own food/drink” meeting. Once the business is completed, we will be able to socialize! For those who have not been, The Tack Room is across the driveway north of the showgrounds. It is right by the handicapped parking area. The food is good and not too pricey and we always have a really nice time. Hope to see everyone there!
The Border Terrier Club of Southern California is relieved to announce that our annual Annual Earthdog Test and Halloween Spooktacular WILL be held this year on Oct.27 & 28 at CANYON RV PARK in Anaheim, CA.
The den sites will be relocated to a new location out of the environmentally sensitive zones, but close enough to the parking area that we still be able to hold the other activities of our Spooktacular in their usual spots.
Please join us in thanking Dennis Broderick, Anne Dove, Carol Hamilton, Steve and Cheryl Shultz, and our own John Ruege who investigated potential sites and eventually worked out an agreement with the people at Canyon RV so that we could hold our event at the RV park this year.
Hope to see you there—

The weather was lovely and so were the dogs. There was morning coffee and pastries before judging. Following the judging, there was a luncheon for all Border Terrier friends and competitors.
